Clarity is free session-replay and heatmap software. It is free in part because Microsoft’s terms permit using collected data for Microsoft’s own purposes, which can include advertising and product improvement. Session recordings can capture form fields, on-screen content, and behavior; sensitive-data masking exists but must be configured, and default masking is not comprehensive. It uses cookies, requires consent in most jurisdictions, and does not honor GPC by default.
